Madrid - Spain and Morocco enjoy "exemplary" cooperation in counter terrorism, Spanish National police's director general Ignacio Cosido said here on Wednesday.
"This is a model to follow," he noted during a press conference in Madrid, adding that international cooperation is "essential" to address the global threat of terrorism.

The Spanish official also praised cooperation between the EU countries in counter terrorism, stressing the importance of sharing information quickly.

A working meeting was held this Wednesday in Madrid between Morocco's Interior minister Mohamed Hassad, the director general of the General Directorate for Territory Surveillance (DGST) Abdellatif Hammouchi, Spain's Interior minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz and Spanish secretary of state for security Fansico Martinez.

The meeting took place in the presence of Hamid Chabar, wali director of international cooperation at the interior ministry, as well as directors general of Spanish police and civil guard Ignacio Cosido and Arsenio Fernandez de Mesa.
