Morocco-US Strategic Dialogue: 3rd Morocco-US Business Development Conference Kicks off in Rabat

Rabat - The 3rd Morocco-US Business Development Conference, a reference meeting for Moroccan and US businessmen, kicked off Tuesday in Rabat.
The opening ceremony of the meeting, which is part of the Strategic Dialogue concluded in September 2012 between Morocco and the USA, took place in the presence of businessmen and economic operators from both countries.

This conference is meant to identify new business opportunities and partnerships in the areas of automotive and energy, two strategic sectors for the business community of both countries.

On this occasion, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mbarka Bouaida, stressed the importance of this meeting, which will boost economic partnership and cooperation between both countries and build on the achievements of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two parties since 2004.

This third edition, which will also build on the achievements of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), will be an opportunity to identify promising areas for joint ventures and partnerships in two key sectors of the Moroccan economy, namely energy and the automotive industry.

She also underlined that the meeting will be an opportunity to start, with the American partners, an innovative cooperation with Africa, building on the opportunities offered by Morocco thanks to its geographical position, its expertise and knowledge of the continent, as well as its commitment to collaboration with Africa, as evidenced by the visits of HM King Mohammed VI to many African countries.

Noting that trade between Morocco and the USA remain below the opportunities offered by both sides, she called on US companies and entrepreneurs to profit from the COP22, to be held in Marrakech on November 7-18, to promote their products and promote their expertise.
