Morocco Plays "Very Important" Role in Promoting Regional Stability (Slovenian FM)

Rabat - Morocco plays a "positive and very important" role in promoting regional stability, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Karl Erjavec said here on Tuesday.
"I have to praise the positive and important role played by Morocco in preserving stability in the region," the Slovenian top diplomat added at a joint press briefing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and cooperation Salaheddine Mezouar.

Both countries have to seize opportunities to boost bilateral cooperation in all areas, including energy and automotive industry, he noted following talks with Mezouar, adding that his visit to Morocco aims at strengthening political relations and hence promoting economic and cultural exchanges.

The economies of both countries have much in common as they prioritize the development of key sectors, such as automotive industry, noted Mezouar, adding that Morocco and Slovenia have to promote their cooperation in energy, a sector in which both countries are very active.

Talks between Mezouar and his Slovenian counterpart focused also on migration and the need of promoting tolerance and integration.

Mezouar thanked Slovenia for its constant and positive stance regarding the Sahara issue.

On this occasion, the two ministers signed two cooperation agreements between Morocco and Slovenia.

The first agreement is on the avoidance of double taxation, while the second is on international road transport.
