The Protocol of amendment will preserve the rights of Moroccan nationals with Dutch social benefits within the context of Dutch legislative amendments on the reduction of pensions transferred outside the Netherlands or the European Union (EU), the ministry pointed out in statement issued Sunday.

According to the ministry, the agreement will allow all current beneficiaries to preserve the same family allowances and death and disability pensions they had.

It also covers the preservation of family allowances and death and disability pensions for new recipients residing in Morocco before October 2016 and until the end of these benefits in accordance with the legal provisions relating thereto, and the alleviation of the impact of the implementation of the new provisions of the Dutch legislation on the principle of the country of residence of the new beneficiaries of pensions for widows and orphans as of October 2016 and the new beneficiaries of family allowances and disability pensions residing in Morocco during the period of October 2016- December 2020.

The ministry also underlined that the agreement also stipulates the payment by the Dutch government of all sums payable to beneficiaries who have not submitted their appeal to Dutch courts after reducing their benefits as of October 2016.
