Morocco, India to Give Practical Content to Partnership

Rabat, 31/05/2016 (MAP) - Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane and India's vice-president, Mohammad Hamid Ansari, stressed, here Tuesday, the need for further efforts to give practical content to partnership between the two countries.

The two officials stressed, during a meeting, the importance of implementing concrete projects to broaden cooperation in various fields of economic and social development, particularly through setting up thematic working groups in charge of developing a road map for a Moroccan-Indian strategic partnership, Head of Government’s Department said in a statement.

The two officials welcomed the strong momentum of bilateral relations following the historic visit paid by HM King Mohammed VI last October to India to take part in the 3rd India-Africa Forum.

Benkirane highlighted Morocco’s potential in terms of political stability, economic growth and qualified workforce, as well as its active presence particularly in West Africa.

Morocco is a strategic gateway for Indian companies seeking access to promising African markets, he underlined.

During their talks, both officials stressed the excellent relations of friendship between the two countries and the multiple social, cultural and historical aspects of rapprochement between the two peoples.
