Appointment of Fugitive from Justice as Head of Polisario to Step up Decline of Separatist Movement

Buenos Aires - The appointment of Brahim Ghali, a fugitive from Spanish justice, at the head of the Polisario will reinforce the international isolation of the separatist movement and accelerate its decline, the independent Argentinian press agency "Total News" says. In an article entitled "The decline of the Polisario Front", the agency notes that the appointment of Ghali at the head of the separatist movement is "a clear indication" of Polisario's entry into an "irreversible process of disintegration", pointing out that the disappearance of the separatist movement will allow Sahrawis held against their will in Tindouf camps, southwestern Algeria, to return home and live in peace in the southern Provinces of the Kingdom.

In the opinion of Adalberto Carlos Agozino, "Algeria is not interested in the fact that Brahim Ghali is prosecuted by justice, but rather that the new leader of the separatists be under its command".

The Argentinian political expert added that "Ghali faces charges relating to terrorism, serious violations of human rights and even rape of Sahrawi girls, including Khadijettou Mahmoud Mohamed Zubair, who filed in 2013 a complaint of rape and sexual exploitation against the new leader of Polisario before the national Audience, the highest criminal court in Spain.
